  • Reservoirs in the Yakima Basin reached 64% capacity on Jan. 1 due to heavy December rain while snow levels remain low — officials say more snow is needed to boost water supplies, as SNOTEL surveys show below-average readings in upper areas.  Yakima Herald-Republic
