- ➤ Congdon Packing Company announced plans on Monday to lay off 102 employees (non-union workers) by April 15 under state WARN Act rules. The move complies with timely notification laws. FOX 41

- ➤ A new report reveals Washington ranked third nationwide for job layoffs in January with over 19,000 cuts recorded through Feb. 5, as Amazon lost over 2,000 jobs + Meta and Expedia also reduced staffing, a sharp increase from 2,000 cuts at the same time last year. NonStopLocal

- ➤ Voters in West Valley, Union Gap, Grandview, Zillah, Wapato and Mount Adams approved school levies on Tuesday to fund instruction and student activities, and a $97 million bond proposal for West Valley renovations did not pass — more ballots will be counted with updates expected at 3:30 p.m. Yakima Herald-Republic

- ➤ Bill Splawn, Yakima County Corrections chief, retires this month after more than 30 years in law enforcement (including eight years at the county jail) where he led programs, secured accreditation, and introduced inmate services. - ➤ A new website sharing data about the Yakama Nation is now available online. Developed by Yakima Valley Partners in Education (with support from tribal leaders) and built over three years at Eastern Washington University, it provides key economic, educational, health, and housing data to guide community decisions.
