- ➤ Bale Breaker Brewing Company celebrated International Women’s Day yesterday by hosting a lively market with a special draft beer and women-run vendors at its brewery, reviving a seven-year tradition and planning a spring market in May. NonStopLocal
- ➤ Anne Gilbert Ulrich was a key force in Yakima as she helped start recreation programs, a school PTA and a League of Women Voters chapter. Her legacy in early childhood education and civic work continues to inspire community efforts—shown during Women’s History Month. Yakima Herald-Republic
- ➤ Washington State Grange in Terrace Heights hosted its third interactive open-house chili cook-off Sunday, where taste testers voted for the best chili and won cash prizes. Grange member Susan Branch (a longtime community advocate) said the event brought neighbors together in a refreshing change from past traditions. KIMA

- ➤ Mt. Adams is one of 46 statewide school districts earning the OSPI educational excellence award for progress measured by attendance, kindergarten readiness, graduation rates, and test scores (White Swan High School has also made changes to keep ninth graders on track). Yakima Herald-Republic
