- ➤ John Cooper, president and CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism, will retire on July 1 after a 38-year career growing travel and boosting local revenue. The board has retained SearchWide Global to find his replacement as he aids the transition. Yakima Herald-Republic
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Forest officials are conducting controlled burns on about 6,046 acres of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest land this spring due to reduced snowpack. Operations include burning 600 acres in Yakima County near Nile and Cliffdell along Highway 410 — crews will only operate when weather conditions are safe. NonStopLocal

- ➤ Trouvés Health Care Corp. completed the purchase of the former Astria Regional Medical Center and plans to convert 100,000 sqft into a 115-bed assisted living facility with extra space for other medical services—creating over 300 local jobs. - ➤ Trouvés Healthcare Corporation bought the former Astria Regional Medical Center and will soon convert the building into a 115-bed behavioral health facility. The building, built in 1914, closed in 2020 after Astria Health faced significant losses. KIMA
- ➤ New Columbia Valley Center for Recovery will hold its ribbon cutting on April 17 and serve mental health and addiction recovery for both voluntary and involuntary clients.
