- ➤ Historians & community leaders have updated the legacy of Fort Simcoe's former Indian boarding school. A Truth & Healing Tribal Advisory Committee listening session was held in Toppenish while researchers used radar to search for unmarked graves, prompting reflection on the lasting impact of forced assimilation. - ➤ On April 30, a Yakima couple’s baby boy was born four months early at Yakima Memorial MultiCare Hospital and he was flown to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma for care. Doctors expect he will stay over four months as his condition is closely watched while his parents remain by his side. NonStopLocal
