- ➤ Seniors in Yakima County can now (by calling 2-1-1) apply for an $80 card to buy fresh produce at approved markets from the second week of June until Oct. 31, and Yakama Reservation residents must apply in person at 91 Wishpoosh Road in Toppenish. Applicants must be 60 or older and meet income limits (under $2,413 for one person or under $3,261 for two), while Yakama Nation citizens can apply at age 55. Yakima Herald-Republic
- ➤ On May 11, the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market began its 2025 season with over 72 approved vendors selling flowers, produce and crafts at 15 W. - ➤ Average gasoline prices in Yakima fell 1.1 cents per gallon from May 5th to May 12th, reaching $3.86 per gallon according to GasBuddy’s survey of 91 stations—prices are now 20.1 cents lower than a month ago and 51.1 cents lower than a year ago. KIMA

- ➤ Army and partnering agencies updated East Selah residents at an open house at the Selah Civic Center on Wednesday on the fight against PFAS in local wells — officials said six multi-connection treatment systems will begin installation this summer while 50 single-home systems, bottled water supplies, and ongoing sampling continue to guide the response.
