- ➤ Central Washington Disability Resources celebrated the opening of its Yakima office — the new center will help people with disabilities get services like living skills training and advocacy. - ➤ The City of Yakima released its new urban forestry management plan that details tree maintenance, inventory updates, and a planting schedule of 20 to 60 trees each year – the plan also uses existing data to assess the forest’s value at an estimated replacement cost of $23.2 million and encourages community outreach for a stronger urban green network. - ➤ The City of Yakima released an urban forestry management plan — developed by ArborPro and funded by a $20,000 grant from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources — that recommends updating tree maintenance cycles, inventory, and planting 20 to 60 new trees each year. The plan finds about 90% of trees are in average or good condition across 95 species and estimates a replacement cost of $23.2 million. NonStopLocal

- ➤ On June 3rd, the CDC updated its guidelines for international travelers by advising that Americans 1 year and older receive two doses of the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine and infants 6 to 11 months get one early dose+ the change follows reports of measles spreading in transit, including a recent outbreak linked to an international flight in Denver. - ➤ In the first quarter, first-time home buyers had a hard time because inflation-adjusted list prices dropped only a little while rising mortgage rates pushed monthly payments to about 42% of average earnings.
