  • Pacific Power today announced a matching donation program for Project HELP that adds $2 for every $1 donated by mail or online + helping local families stay warm this winter.   • Wineries in Yakima Valley will host a Thanksgiving Wine Weekend with house-made mulled wine — unique tasting flights, cookie decorating and special food pairings — from November 28 to November 30, drawing both local families and visitors.  1280 NewsTalk KIT
  • Yakima Symphony Orchestra will perform 'From the Danube to the Moldau' on Nov 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre with pianist Yerin Kim (a Central Washington University educator).   • The city of Zillah invited community members to Stewart Park today for the unveiling of its newest mural painted by Toppenish artist Miguel Cuevas. The mural honors local history with each letter representing a part of the town’s past and has been praised by city officials who discussed ideas for future art projects.  NonStopLocal
  • Zillah unveiled a new interactive mural at the Civic Center that spells out the city's name and highlights its railroad history — local artist Miguel Cuevas completed the piece in just over two and a half weeks, adding hidden details like Bigfoot, bees, and butterflies.   • At the Yakima School Board meeting on Wednesday, vice president Graciela Villanueva's 13 years of service were celebrated as she stepped down, leaving a legacy of advocacy and strong support for students.   • The Yakima School District held its second annual school funding forum on Oct. 30 at Davis High School—about 30 local community members, staff, and board members discussed gaps in Washington’s K-12 education funding and urged the Legislature to target investments for districts in need.  Yakima Herald-Republic

  • At Cleveland Clinic Children's NICU, volunteers hand-crocheted octopuses—designed with tentacles that mimic umbilical cords—to comfort premature babies during tough procedures. The safe toys, made with 100 percent cotton yarn and strict guidelines, helped more than 500 infants feel secure.  FOX 41
