  • The Wyckoff family of Yakima Valley finalized their purchase of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates on Dec. 4, marking a new chapter for the state’s largest wine producer. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Washington tree fruit leaders met in Wenatchee Monday to address oversupply affecting prices, urging growers to reduce yields. Yakima Valley experts recommended better pruning and selective picking to cut production by 12% and balance domestic and export demands — a key move for regional growers.  Yakima Herald-Republic

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Flooding from the Yakima and Naches rivers affected U.S. 12 near Naches yesterday and crews worked to restore power outages, while sandbags were set up at the Naches Fire Department and Nile-Cliffdell fill station amid a wind advisory until 7 a.m. today.  Yakima Herald-Republic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Yakima Police Department hosted a Coffee with a Cop event Wednesday morning downtown, where residents shared coffee and conversation with Police Chief Shawn Boyle. The department announced more community outreach events this month and will address budget cuts later this week.  KIMA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Federal health officials expanded the outbreak definition for infant botulism linked to recalled ByHeart baby formula to include 51 cases (illnesses reported since March 2022) with the most recent case reported Dec. 1; no deaths have been reported and doctors warn families not to use the formula.  FOX 41
