- ➤ Naches Valley High School in Yakima was honored with the 2025 ESEA Distinguished School award for its strong growth in math and English language arts. The school received an award plaque, banner and $5,000 — a recognition of dedicated efforts by staff and students. Yakima Herald-Republic

- ➤ The Small Business Administration announced that beginning March 1, Yakima small businesses will need to be 100% U.S. citizen owned to qualify for SBA loans. The change will bar green card holders as part of ongoing policy tightening. FOX 41
