  • The annual Claws for Paws Crab Feed took place on Saturday in Yakima, where locals enjoyed crustacean treats, games and pet adoptions that supported animal care at the Yakima Humane Society. Adoption visits are held Monday-Saturday.  KIMA

CULTURE NEWS

  • Yakima has been nominated for Best Beer City in America in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards, recognizing its long brewing heritage and hop production. Residents are invited to vote daily online before Feb. 23, 9 a.m. PST + the community looks forward to earning the accolade.  Yakima Herald-Republic

SPORTS NEWS

  • Breezy Johnson won Olympic downhill gold on Sunday at Cortina d’Ampezzo and later said she felt heartache after teammate Lindsey Vonn crashed heavily and was evacuated by helicopter. Johnson said she will compete in the women’s team combined on Tuesday.  FOX 41
  • Kenneth Walker III earned Super Bowl MVP honors — his 135 rushing yards and 26 receiving yards powered Seattle to a 29–13 win over New England on Sunday — making him the first running back in 29 years to win the award.  FOX 41
