ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Repairs on the westbound I-82 Yakima River Bridge starting Friday will involve fixing a bridge truss and a guardrail, with a detour through Selah Road until early March.  Yakima Herald-Republic

CRIME NEWS

  • A Yakima man was charged with assaulting two police officers during a standoff that led to his arrest after an initial confrontation involving him throwing objects at cars.  Yakima Herald-Republic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Yakima City Council focused on downtown maintenance, homelessness, tourism, and city projects, expressing concerns about the effectiveness of the Yakima County Homeless Coalition and proposed changes including more flexibility for affordable housing funds.  Yakima Herald-Republic
