  • State Fair Park will host 10 days of spring break fun in Yakima from April 3 to April 12, including the Jordan World GLOW Circus. The circus plays at the Sundome on April 11, with tickets at $10 for kids and $20 for adults—wristbands are needed for rides.  1280 NewsTalk KIT

CULTURE NEWS

  • Zillah has announced a community mural celebrating Moxee’s rich heritage and close-knit spirit. The dedication ceremony will be held Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the corner of Moxee Ave and Rivard Rd (with remarks by the mural artist and city officials) (and family safety activities offered by local fire and police units).  1280 NewsTalk KIT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • CWU and the Yakama Nation signed a memorandum on March 3 in Toppenish to build a lasting partnership that will form a Yakama Nation Advisory Council to support Native students at the university — a gesture designed to endure beyond current leaders.  NonStopLocal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Washington State Department of Agriculture will spray an insecticide to treat Japanese beetle larvae in Yakima and Benton counties next week—residents must provide consent soon to protect lawns and plants from this invasive pest.  Yakima Herald-Republic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Eligible Washington residents can now pre-apply for the e-bike rebate program offering *$300* or *$1,200* for buying a new or used e-bike; winners will be drawn every Monday starting Monday, Apr. 13, and selected applicants must submit required documents within 96 hours.  1280 NewsTalk KIT
