  • The Downtown Association will install flowers in 145 street-level planters and 250 hanging baskets next week in downtown, led by Brian Roberts, his wife Darcie, and team members aiming to beautify the area — Country Garden Nursery from McMinnville supplies the blooms.  Yakima Herald-Republic

  • Bánh Mì & More at Faty, a new family-owned restaurant on Nob Hill, has opened at 1521 East Nob Hill Blvd and serves Vietnamese sandwiches and seafood noodles soup with calamari, shrimp, pork & dried fried onion. It is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.  1280 NewsTalk KIT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary received a $5,000 library grant from the Laura Bush Foundation to boost its library at Union Gap, and a new funding round will open in late 2026.  NonStopLocal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Baby Leo Guild was born at 25 weeks on April 30 in Yakima via emergency C-section and is now stable in the NICU at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, gaining weight + opening his eyes for the first time.
