  • Encore Books held its third annual Author Fair and Market in Yakima on June 1, where authors from across the Northwest and local entrepreneurs gathered under canopies to showcase regional talent—Yakima Book Company partnered on the event and the next fair is set for September 28.   FOX 41

EDUCATION NEWS

  • La Salle High School in Union Gap will welcome three Christian Brothers from the Lasallian District based in San Francisco and New Orleans to join its faculty for the school year 2025 to 2026. Brother John Montgomery, set to arrive next week as the new president—joined in July by Brothers Dan Morgan and Javier Antonio Hansen—will strengthen the school’s commitment to its founding values.  Yakima Herald-Republic
  • The Let's Go! Bicycle Education Program, a collaboration among state, club, and school officials, taught students at Harriet Thompson Elementary bike safety and basic maintenance skills. Funded by the Climate Commitment Act, the program boosted confidence by teaching helmet use, hand signals — and ways to ride safely in traffic.  KIMA
