🚧 Accidents
A military aircraft crashed near Rimrock Lake Saturday, triggering a wildfire in nearby woods; the pilot safely ejected and was taken to a hospital, and crews from the fire department and U.S. Forest Service are now suppressing the fire and beginning mop-up operations today.

Legends Casino Hotel's outdoor pool now features a lazy river & super slide, open 7 a.m. to dusk seasonally.
Other updates include a coffee stand in Lincoln Triangle, a bakery opening at Nob Hill, U-Haul services at Jimmy's Food Mart, and Cowiche Creek Nursery closing end of June.
El Beny Cuban Restaurant will open in a few weeks at the Chalet Place shopping area at 5621 Summitview Ave (adjacent to Inklings Bookshop) in Yakima.
The restaurant will serve Cuban coffee, pastries, and traditional dishes with hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Foreign guest worker applications through the H-2A program are steady this summer in Yakima Valley after policy changes lowered farmers' costs.
As of now, 287 applications have been filed for nearly 38,000 positions (figures remain below last season) while growers continue to hire domestic workers first.
