  • Dozens of protesters gathered downtown Yakima today to speak out for free speech after the protest shifted from an environmental focus—local residents from Granger and Selah stressed that free speech is a core right in America.  NonStopLocal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Amazon is on trial today in a federal court in Seattle for a lawsuit that says the company tricked people into signing up for its Prime service and made canceling very hard. The FTC filed the complaint in June and may get penalties and force changes in Amazon’s subscription practices if it wins.  FOX 41

  • In this week's episode of Roots of the Valley, KIMA's John Franklin interviews John Kobli of the Central Washington Agriculture Museum about apple picking and sorting in the Yakima Valley. Kobli explains his family's history with an apple orchard and shows a working apple sorter (from the 1960s).  KIMA

  • Melissa Jefferson-Wooden led the US team to win the 4x100 relay gold on Sunday and became only the second woman to complete a world sprint treble by capturing the 100m and 200m titles in Tokyo—Jamaica took silver in her final race.  FOX 41
