  • Selah High School hosted the fourth annual Turkey Bowl food drive that brought over 100 players together to donate food to the Selah-Naches Food Bank. The event—started by just seven friends—has grown each year as teams donate at least 20 cans and organizers plan to hold next year's drive the weekend before Thanksgiving.  NonStopLocal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Yakima County issued a request for proposals to build a 16-bed medical detox facility that will offer 24/7 withdrawal management and crisis stabilization to address a growing need. Proposals were due Nov 17 and county officials will review them on Nov 24—this move comes as studies show rising overdose rates and a lack of nearby services.  Yakima Herald-Republic

  • The Vancouver Whitecaps beat LAFC 4–3 in a penalty shootout—after a 2–2 draw on November 22—when Mathias Laborda scored the winning kick. They will face either San Diego or Minnesota United in the MLS Western Conference final at a future date.  FOX 41
