- ➤ Today, Yakima Valley Libraries host their annual Jolabokaflod Celebration at 10 local branches, offering free books and hot chocolate as part of an Icelandic tradition. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Yakima fell 10.2 cents per gallon in the week ending Dec. 22, averaging $3.57. They are 33.1 cents lower than a month ago but 2.4 cents above last year’s average according to GasBuddy’s survey (91 stations). KIMA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new study shows that using dashboard touch screens while driving makes it harder to keep lane control and lowers screen accuracy, researchers found from a vehicle simulator experiment (with 16 participants) by the University of Washington and Toyota Research Institute. FOX 41
- ➤ Amid atmospheric rivers that caused severe weather and floods in our area, the Red Cross is urging unaffected donors in Yakima and surrounding counties to give blood or platelets. Donations given from Dec. 19 through Jan. 4 will earn an exclusive long-sleeved T-shirt while supplies last. KIMA
